A couple of months ago, Ava and I were getting ready to meet my friend Barbara. I was taking Ava along to an early Friday drinks catch up (family friendly of course) and Dan was going to pick her up after work so I could continue on for a girl’s night – result!
I was deciding whether to wear my gold or leopard print ballet flats and asked Ava to choose what shoes she wanted to wear. Instead of choosing a matching pair, she decided to wear two different shoes. She chose one yellow sandal and one red sandal (with Hello Kitty on it). What a brilliant idea and I have to admit, it really worked.
It’s amazing how at such a young age, kids can have a really good sense of colour. Even though the shoes didn’t match, the colours matched her outfit and she looked great.
I know I’ve taught Ava what goes with what, but she has really taken it on and the same attention to details is evident in her creative development too. Perhaps she will be involved in the next generation of Pantone swatch books!
