Today’s post comes to you from Wellington, NZ. A few months ago, we were invited to a friend’s wedding and thought it would be a great opportunity to extend our stay and make it a family holiday. Thankfully the flight was a breeze and with only two hours time difference, it didn’t take long for all of us to adjust to NZ time.
After a lovely weekend in Otaki filled with wedding activities, we are now settled in at our house in Brooklyn (not quite NYC but still a cool name for a suburb), which is nestled on top of a huge hill overlooking the city. It’s a little windy but the view is pretty spectacular (see panorama above). It feels a little like the hills of San Francisco – the streets winding up, down and around with houses stacked higgledy-piggledy every which way you look.
So far we have checked out Cuba Street (love it there), Chocolate Fish (a café that has become something of an institution here) and the coastal drive round to Miramar passing through Seatoun and finishing at Breaker Bay. The scenery is breathtaking and quite different from the coastal views at home.
Right now we are at the world-renowned Te Papa Museum for the Meet the Tyrannosaurs exhibition. Woah, what an amazing place and there are loads of cool kids zones throughout the rest of the museum too.
So it’s over and out for now and we’ll try to post again later this week. Happy Tuesday peeps xx
