I really enjoy shopping for Ava. Well, truth be told – I LOVE shopping for Ava! Clothes for little girls are so cute at the moment and trust me, you don’t need to spend a lot to build up a great collection.
Whilst I love designs by brands like Seed, Country Road and Witchery, they are not cheap. You may be surprised to know that a lot of Ava’s wardrobe comes from Target. They have really upped the anti recently and are obviously taking note of interesting prints, cuts and fresh new colour palettes. From patterned jeans and trackie pants to retro bathers and sequined T-shirts, a lot of their range is a perfect choice for Ava.
For cheap basics you can’t go past Best & Less (particularly for Kinder-aged kids) as we all know how messy they get during the day. They also have some really lovely summer stuff right now, great colour combos with splashes of neon, channeling the fun designs by Gorman. The dress and leggings combo on Ava (in the images above) are both from there.
Cotton On Kids is the perfect store for all things FUN! I love their colour palettes and their accessories are brilliant for little ladies who love jewelry and all things pretty. I have to admit that I usually wait until they are having a sale (which seems to be all the time!) and stock up on presents for Ava’s little mates too.
Every week, I scour the Aldi catalogue for the kids’ specials as their brand Lily & Dan has some great pieces. Where else could you buy two pairs of leggings for $7.99? The colours and patterns are really fun and surprisingly good quality. I always stock up on their (skinny-ski-style) PJs, such a bargain at only $10. Keep a look out too for further discounts as they quite often drop the kids stuff to ridiculously low prices. I picked up a pair of jeans for Ava last week for $5.99, crazy!
While taking the photos for this post, that old saying ‘never work with kids and animals’ came to mind. It was a beautiful day and Miss Ava was NOT in the mood for it at all. I managed to snap some more ‘aloof’ shots and in the end I had to bribe her with ice cream to get any more.
Happy Thursday xx
