Located in the Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens at Sherbrooke, the café and bakery sit side by side in the same building. The decor has an earthy, rustic charm and the food display and styling is superb!
With options to sit indoors and out, sitting outside is definitely the way to go. On a warm day it is the perfect sun-trap and a great spot to relax and take in the fresh country air.
The ‘Afternoon Tea’ menu offers some savoury creations, hot scones, tea and coffee and (quoted direct from the menu) ‘a seriously good selection of sweet treats’. And let me tell you, they do not lie – the sweet treats are more than impressive (see photos above). All of these little delights are laid out on a huge table (not behind glass), which you see as soon as you walk in the door. You can’t miss them and they really do look incredible. Ava stopped dead in her tracks and her eyes lit up at the sight of the pretty little offerings.
As we had a big lunch at home that day, we decided not to do the Afternoon Tea option. Instead we had coffee and pastries (from the everyday display) and Ava was very impressed with her special ‘kids-style’ hot chocolate accompanied by a mini meringue-shaped marshmallow (yum!).
The staff were super friendly and we will definitely visit again and try those gorgeous little sweet things.
