Little Henri ticks that box for me and quite often I take Ava there after swimming on a Friday morning. I know what to expect so we grab a table and settle in until it is time to go home for lunch.
After a much needed coffee, I usually order the ‘Big Boy’ brekky and a couple of extra sides and we share. The grilled haloumi is a nice addition to the usual suspects of bacon and eggs and the spinach gets some greens into me too.
After brekky we sit and chat and bring out the ‘amusement bag’, my saviour when out for meals. It’s filled with colouring books, textas, crayons, stickers and more. Ava draws or does some colouring in and sometimes we create stuff together.
So in short, Little Henri is a great space with options to eat indoors or out. The indoor area has super high ceilings, nicely spaced out tables and an old vault from back in the day when it used to be a bank (a cool feature and interesting talking point). The outdoor area is like a big beer garden and is a lovely spot on sunny days (also good for kids if they want to stretch their legs while you decide to have another coffee).
PS – the photo of Ava with ‘Henri’ the silhouette was taken on the outer wall of the restaurant. It’s a fun way to start or end the visit.
